Andrea Jaeger is a former #2 ranked female tennis player turned philanthropist. An active Christian (nondenominational), she co-founded The Silver Lining Foundation, based in Aspen, Colorado, which she has run for more than a decade. She also operates the Little Star Program, headquartered in Durango, Colorado, which gives money and provides programs to children afflicted with a variety of hardships and diseases. Andrea's skills on the tennis circuit catapulted her to the professional tennis circuit at the age of 14, but that wasn't her real calling. In her first book, First Service: Following God's Calling and Finding Life's Purpose ( HCI Books –April 2004) , Andrea shares her life on the women's tennis circuit while focusing on her spiritual journey – many times filled with pain and isolation – to build a relationship with God. God has spoken to Andrea since she was a child – sending her signs and giving her direction of how to live day-to-day. Andrea writes about miracles, conversations with God and divine relationships that have brought her through a tumultuous childhood until today as she runs the Silver Lining Foundation, a ranch for children with cancer in Aspen, Colorado, and as she expands her mission to help end the horrid abuse of children. Using the same tenacity that gained her victories on the tennis court, Jaeger fights for children throughout the world. Her list of supporters reads like a Who's Who of entertainers and athletes: Oprah Winfrey, Nelson Mandela, Kevin Costner, Paul Newman, David Robinson, John McEnroe, Cindy Crawford, Faith Hill, Ted Forstmann and Mayor Michael Bloomberg. "The first time I met Andrea I felt there was a light from within her soul that shined brighter than anything I had ever seen," says Faith Hill, a special visitor to the Silver Lining Ranch.
