Byron Hoogwerf, M.D. is a native of Minnesota who received his medical training at the University of Minnesota and the Hennepin County Medical Center. He spent four years on the faculty of the University of Minnesota before moving to the Cleveland Clinic in 1985, where he is a staff physician in the Department of Endocrinology. He was Program Director for the Endocrinology Fellowship program from 1991-1996 and the Internal Medicine Residency Program from 1997-2004. He is active with American Diabetes Association, including past membership on the Minnesota and Ohio affiliate boards and the 1994, 2002 and 2005 Nutrition Guidelines Task Force Groups. He was a member of the ADA National Board from 1998-2001.
