Mikkel Becker has been active in the Quarter Horse show circuit and she is a three-time Canadian National Champion in Western Pleasure and Hunter Under Saddle. She has been a contributing author to Knight Ridder newspapers, and has written for Cat Fancy Magazine and several Chicken Soup for the Soul books. She is the children's education coordinator for the Whitman County Humane Society in Washington State. She is also a graduate of the prestigious Academy for Dog Trainers at the San Francisco SPCA, who avidly applies their schience-based training methods to all species.
