Bud Gardner is a published writer, professional speaker, business-writing consultant, award-winning teacher, Jack London Award Winner, Sacramento Hall of Fame Coach, and former host of his own writing for Publication TV class.

Bud wrote and sold 60 articles before taking over the writing for publication program at American River College, Sacramento, California, in 1977. To date, his students have sold more than 3,000 articles and 110 books, earning more than $3 million from their writing, reaching an estimated 500 million readers worldwide.

Bud, with 24 of his top students, wrote a motivational book titles Write to $1,000,000 — Turn Your Dreams into Dollars, which was published by Carol O'Hara's Cat*Tale Press and became a bestseller in northern California.

A California Governor, the California Joint Legislature, and the Superintendent of Public Instruction wrote resolutions, all praising Bud for his outstanding teaching accomplishments.

In May 1992, The American Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA)—one of the most influential and prestigious writing organizations in the country—named Bud the first-ever Robert C. Anderson Memorial Award winner, distinguishing him as the most inspirational writing teacher in America.

Bud served as co-captain, along with Dan Poynter, of the Maui Writers Nonfiction Retreat and conducts seminars at the annual Maui Writers' Conference each labor Day weekend.

A member of the National Speakers Association, Bud is an acclaimed motivational speaker for organizations, conferences and schools, and is available for speaking engagements.
